Keep Kids Strong the Whole Year Long! Immunization & Sports Physical Clinic this Wednesday, 8/7, 10am-4pm

Cascade City-County Health Department (CCHD), Great Falls Clinic, Mountain View Physical Therapy, Blue Cross Blue Shield Care Van, and Great Falls Public Schools are working together to make it as convenient as possible for parents to get their kids ready for the upcoming school year. Other youth-focused organizations will be on site as well to provide activities and information for healthy parenting!

When: Wednesday, August 7th, 2019

Where: MT Expo Park – Pacific Steel & Recycling Arena

Time: 10am – 4pm

Parents and/or guardians can bring their children to the walk-in clinic for immunizations, sports physicals, or both! CCHD will provide vaccinations to anyone 0-18 years of age. All insurances will be accepted. Parents should bring insurance cards with them. No child will be denied immunizations due to an inability to pay.

Great Falls Clinic Family Medicine and Pediatric Providers will be available to provide required sports physicals for only $15, cash only! Physicals are required for fall, winter, and spring sports. More providers will be available this year for shorter wait times. Vision screenings are included. In addition, a registered dietician and nutrition station will be on site.

The Blue Cross Blue Shield Montana Care Van is a community partnership and outreach program that provides vaccines to Montanans at no cost, or low cost, to the patient. In collaboration for this event, the Care Van will cover all out-of-pockets costs for vaccines and half of the $30 sports physical fee.

Both immunizations and sports physicals are important for keeping children healthy. “Vaccines can protect those you care about by reducing the spread of disease and preventing prolonged illnesses,” states Trixie Smith, CCHD’s Prevention Services Division Manager. She continues, “Our knowledgeable public health nurses are happy to answer questions and provide information regarding immunization schedules and what vaccinations are recommended to keep children healthy.”

Mountain View Physical Therapy will also be making an appearance with their Overspeed – Speed, Strength, and Agility Enhancement Program, which offers athletes the opportunity to increase their speed and agility through training & evaluation of gait, posture, and form. This walk-in clinic is a fun, efficient way for parents to get multiple tasks crossed off their back-to-school checklists in one convenient location!
