Alive @ Five Adopts Tobacco Free Events
The Cascade City-County Health Department (CCHD) is proud to announce that in its collaboration with the Downtown Great Falls Association the remaining 2013 Alive @ Five events will be tobacco free.
The Alive @ Five events are held in various locations in Great Falls every Thursday from June through August. This free fun event invites the public to enjoy live music, food, vendors, and games and runs from 5 pm to 9 pm. Tobacco free events of this type were inspired by other Montana communities eliminating tobacco use in order to create healthy environments for public summer activities. The first three of these events were scheduled as tobacco free for evaluation purposes, which were well received.
CCHD Tobacco Prevention Specialist Teddy Nault feels that this is a positive move for the community and states, “The Downtown Business Association board members have taken a huge step in providing not only a fun filled atmosphere, but a healthier environment as well.”
CCHD is excited to be a part of Alive @ Five and encourages the public to attend this event. The CCHD Tobacco Use Prevention Program has donated signage to remind event goers of the tobacco free status.
