Immunizations and Sports Physicals in One Stop!
Cascade City-County Health Department (CCHD), Great Falls Clinic, Benefis Health System, Blue Cross Blue Shield Care Van and Great Falls Public Schools are working together to make it as convenient as possible for parents to get their kids ready for the upcoming school year.
When: Wednesday, August 9th, 2017
Where: MT Expo Park – Four Seasons Arena
Time: 10am – 4pm
Parents and/or guardians can bring their children to the walk-in clinic for immunizations, sports physicals or both! CCHD will provide vaccinations to anyone 0-18 years of age. Cost varies depending on the vaccine, but all payment types will be accepted, as well as all insurances, parents should have their insurance cards with them. No child will be denied immunizations due to an inability to pay.
Great Falls Clinic Family Medicine and Pediatric Providers will be available to provide required sports physicals. Physicals cost $30, cash only. Great Falls Clinic Vision Center Providers will be available to offer a free vision screening. To ensure children are fit and healthy for their chosen sport, a sports physical is required by the school before they begin. Even if a child isn’t playing a fall sport, winter and spring sports also require physicals.
Both immunizations and sports physicals are important for keeping children healthy. “Vaccines can prevent serious illnesses that can cause hardship for a family”, says Trixie Smith, CCHD’s Prevention Services Division Manager. She continues, “Not only is there the worry of a loved one who is ill, there is also the stress of missed work time and the financial impact that this could have on the family. Our knowledgeable Public Health Nurses will be glad to answer questions and provide information regarding immunization schedules and what vaccinations are recommended to keep children healthy.”
Benefis Health System will be giving free trial sessions of the RESULTS program! RESULTS is a sport specific training program that focuses on improving athletic performance and reducing risk of injury. Students are asked to wear athletic shoes to participate.
The Blue Cross Blue Shield Montana Care Van is a community partnership and outreach program that provides vaccines to Montanans at no cost, or low cost, to patients.
This walk-in clinic is a convenient way for parents to get multiple tasks crossed off their back-to-school checklist in one convenient location!
