The Mission of the Cascade City-County Health Department (CCHD) is to prevent disease and illness, ensure a healthy environment, promote healthy choices, and deliver quality services.

CCHD works toward its mission through the activities of three different divisions: Environmental Health Services, Family Health Services, and Prevention Services.

Environmental Health Services (EH) helps ensure a healthy environment for residents of our community through education, monitoring, and enforcement of state law and regulations in several environmental programs, including:

  • Air quality
  • Daycare centers and group homes
  • Drinking water
  • Food establishments and safety
  • Public accommodations
  • Swimming pools/spas
  • Rabies prevention
  • Septic systems
  • Subdivisions
  • Body art establishments
  • Trailer courts

Prevention Services (PS) works to prevent disease and illness, promote healthy choices, and prepare for and respond to public health emergencies by offering services and education that encourage health and wellness.

Family Health Services (FHS) works to enhance the health, safety, and well-being of families in Cascade County by providing information, screenings, support, resources, and encouragement to parents to help children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.

Administrative Services staff help all of CCHD’s programs utilize funds and resources in the most effective way possible.
