Get Vaccinated Before Heading Back to School!

Once August rolls around, it’s time to start thinking about heading back to school. One important item on your back-to-school checklist should be immunizations.

Vaccines aren’t just for babies! As children get older, they may need a booster dose of some vaccines given during early childhood. Some of these boosters may be required before your child can register for school. Other vaccines, such as HPV (human papillomavirus) and MCV4 (meningococcal disease), are made only for older children. This makes August the perfect time to make sure that your children are up-to-date on all vaccinations! And don’t forget, all kids—infants over 6 months, young children, preteens and teens—need a flu shot each year.

If you are unable to make this event, you can always come to CCHD for your back-to-school immunizations. Immunization hours are Tuesday from 8:30 – 11:30am and Wednesday through Friday from 8:30 – 11:30am and 1:00 – 4:30pm. No appointment is necessary!
