CCHD and Snyder Drug Encouraging People to “ASK ME”
The Cascade City-County Health Department (CCHD) is pleased to continue with the “ASK ME!” campaign during the month of October. This is an exicting and different program that teams up with local businesses to increase cancer screening rates and awareness in Cascade County. When customers ask about the “ASK ME!” buttong the store clerks are wearing, they will be handed a card with cancer screening information for breast, cervical and colorectal cancer. It is a fun and unique way to initiate a conversation about a very important topic: cancer screening.
Penny Paul, CCHD Community Health Education Specialist, is working with the local businesses to seek support of this program, which will run at different times through June 2013. For the month of October, CCHD is pleased to have Snyder Drug as their partner for the campaign.
Snyder Drug, a family-owned business, is pleased to be a part of this program. “We have been serving the community for over 100 years,” says owner Kurt Depner. “We believe it is important to detect cancer early as the best preventative measure.”
The “ASK ME!” campaign is a project of the Montana Cancer Control Coalition Early Detection Team.
