2011-2014 Cascade County Community Health Improvement Plan Now Available

The City-County Health Department has released the 2011-2014 Cascade County Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

On April 20, 2011, representatives from 25 local agencies met to evaluate the data found in the 2011 Community Health Assessment and identify three priority health issues to improve. The issues chosen for improvement were:

  1. Access to care, including medical, dental and mental health
  2. Substance abuse, including alcohol, tobacco, legal and illegal drugs
  3. Obesity

The plan includes community-identified goals, objectives and strategies for improvement for each of these issues.

The CHIP will be used by health and other local government and human service agencies to set priorities and coordinate resources. The plan is a guideline for community agencies to follow in developing policies working to promote health in Cascade County.

Please call Alicia M. Thompson, MSW at 791-9260 with any questions about the Community Health Improvement Plan.
