DPHHS Director in Town to Spotlight Healthy Montana Kids Plan

Department of Public Health and Human Services Director Anna Whiting Sorrell says Montana is just days away from the debut of the Healthy Montana Kids (HMK) Plan.

The HMK Plan combines children’s Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) into a single plan, expanding free or low-cost health coverage for Montana children and teens up to age 19. The plan goes into effect on October 1.

“Last fall, Montana voters made it clear health care coverage for kids was a priority, and now we’re thrilled to put that into action,” Whiting Sorrell said. “It’s an exciting time for anyone who cares about Montana children and keeping them healthy.”

Whiting Sorrell will hold a press conference Thursday, September 24th at 10 a.m. at the Cascade City-County Health Department, 115 4th St. South,  in Great Falls.
